A French artist of the early 20th century,
Robert Delaunay was one of the first to assume the title of "Cubist."
As an early pioneer of the school, Delaunay helped define the
basic philosophy of Cubism: to apply, as a painting technique,
the principle by which a prism breaks rays of light into their
component colors. Hence, Delaunay's works were recognizable for
their fractured color schemes and shifting perspectives.
- Paintings Available by Robert Delaunay:
- Homage to Bleriot, 1914.
- Simultaneous Open Windows, 1912.
