The Linograph
made from a print is a new
canvas transfer
process unlike any canvas transfer you have ever seen before.
In fact, it is distinct from any canvas
transfer that has ever been made before. If you look closely
at the Linograph, you will see that the paper the image
was printed on is completely gone. The image was removed from
the print and transferred to the canvas: no loss of detail,
no change of color. It was made using a completely new process
developed by Tim Siahatgar, founder of CRA PRODUCTIONS. It's called a Linograph, and it's the first real
improvement in canvas transfers in more than twenty years! This
process is so good that we can make oval and round transfers
with sharp, clean edges! We can also transfer images that contain
stamped foil!
The Linograph is an extremely easy,
convenient product to handle. You can order them stretched or
as flat sheets, like your prints. In flat form, you can stack
them up for the artist to sign, store them on your shelves just
like prints and ship them in tubes. Stretching a Linograph is
as easy as stretching plain canvas. Most galleries can easily
stretch canvas themselves; others may choose to mount them directly
onto foamboard. Either way, once Linograph pieces have
been placed in its frame, they look just as good. In stretched
form, you can stack them up face-to-face as an easy way of protecting
the canvas from injury. You can also wrap them in plastic sheeting
or bubble pack for shipping. (Note: Don't try any of these procedures
with a regular canvas transfer!) Linograph prints will not adhere
themselves to the inside of a frame like other canvas transfers.
Your galleries and customers can change frames as often as they
like, without fear of destroying the product.
The Linograph is a "Canvas Transfer
Technique." This remarkable new process enables us to
lift the image from lithograph prints and melt it to the canvas,
without any loss or change in appearance. Our exclusive process
allows us to produce a canvas Linograph that is a mirror
image of the art work. Linograph prints are renowned for the
absence of effects such as darkening, blurring, spotting or "washed
out" colors that are common with other types of processes.
